Helping Our Children with Anxiety
Sunday Stumpers is a new initiative for Religious School parents, offering a monthly opportunity for parents to come together to learn something new. Each month will cover a different topic, ranging from discussions about how to talk to your children about challenging subjects, to hands-on lessons on how to do Jewish rituals.
Many of our children experience frequent or ongoing anxiety, and current events have only added to their fears. Parents are invited to come together with Rachel Green, Clinical Director of Programs and Services at Jewish Family Services, to discuss ways that parents can help decrease their children's anxiety and share their own experiences. Rachel, along with other therapists at JFS, is trained in a Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a scientifically proven intervention developed by the Yale Child Study Center.
This will be a casual gathering over coffee and bagels. Bring ideas to share! Sunday Stumpers is free of charge, but please register so we can provide enough refreshments.
