Join us for an insightful session beginning with Rabbi Nichols' presentation, 'The Religious Rebels in My Ancestry.' After encountering challenges in researching her Jewish ancestors, Rabbi Nichols shifted her focus to her non-Jewish ancestors. She’ll share some of her favorite discoveries, including relatives involved in religious controversies in early New England history.
Rhoda Miller, Ed.D., CG®, an expert in Jewish genealogy and Holocaust studies, will guide us through strategies for uncovering Jewish ancestors. She'll address unique challenges such as European border changes, name variations, languages, cemeteries, and the impact of the Holocaust.
We’ll enjoy a delicious lunch featuring stuffed cabbage, rugelach, and chocolate babka.
On the same day, SPICE is hosting a Food Drive to benefit the Jewish Family Services Food Pantry. Help feed families in need by bringing your food donations when you attend the program. Volunteers will be available at the temple entrance to assist with drop-offs. Checks and gift cards to Walmart or Aldi are also welcome. Let’s show that Seniors Make A Difference!—but everyone is invited to contribute.
Registration for lunch is required. The cost for lunch is $15 for TBE members and $18 for non-members.
Presented by SPICE.
Register by Sunday, December 1. Please list the names of everyone you are registering as we will have nametags!
