11:00 AM - 1:30 PMTemple Beth El

Rabbi Asher Knight will begin our program with a discussion on The Cause of Destruction and the Seeds of Hope.  The Kamtza and Bar Kamtza story (B. Gittin 55b-56a) is a well-known aggadic story about the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Together we will explore the values that the authors placed on the behaviors that caused the destruction and the seeds of hope that we can all re-plant.

A delicious Israeli lunch of Shawarma, Pita Bread, Couscous, Hummus, Feta, Falafel, Fruit Salad, Israeli Salad, and Cheesecake,  will be served.  Registration for lunch is required. The cost for lunch is $11 for TBE members and $14 for non-members.

Dr. David Goldfield, Professor of History at UNC Charlotte will present on Pearl Harbor and other events that led the US to fight in WWII.
