The mission of SPICE is to enhance the quality of life of affiliated and non-affiliated Jewish seniors by providing religious, cultural, educational, or social programs of interest and concern.

Join us for a clergy-led program from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Lunch is at noon followed by a guest speaker presentation from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm. We look forward to your attendance, enjoyment, and participation!


11:00 am- Rabbi Dusty Klass - "Hiddur Mitzvah: The Divine Commandment of Beautification, in Art and in Life"

12:00 pm - Lunch -  We can incorporate art into lunch with The Art of Food - Make your own salad with tuna, chicken, or egg salad, rolls, and pound cake with berries and whipped cream

12:45 pm - "Tapestry is More than Just a Carole King Song" - Join Bechtler Museum President , John Boyer, for a talk on the history of tapestry, restoring tapestries, and the fascinating story of how Bechtler's newest exhibition came to fruition. John Boyer is one of Charlotte's most beloved speakers and this talk will be the perfect prelude to  the May 20 SPICE OUT Curator's Tour at the Bechtler.
