6:00 PM - 7:30 PMZoom
Join us for a special Shabbat and Simchat Torah where we will celebrate the completion of the annual Torah reading cycle. Torah is one of the pillars on which we build our lives and our community. We will share congregant-created art and reflections on the theme of “Lev - Heart.” We will also celebrate and bless two retiring members of our staff, Pam Linker and Candace Naliboff, who have been at the heart of our community.
The Lev Project
The last letter of the Torah is a lamed, from the word “Yisrael.” The first letter of the Torah is a bet, from “Bereishit.” Those two letters spell the word, Lev, meaning “heart.” At Simchat Torah, we celebrate the completion of the annual Torah reading cycle. Torah is one of the pillars on which we build our lives and our community. Since we cannot be together in person this year, we invite you to create art on the theme of “Lev - Heart.” What matters most to you and is at the center of your heart? How has your heart expanded or contracted in the last year? How is Torah at the “heart” of our community? Send pictures of your art to afine@templebethel.org. We will incorporate the pieces during the service.
