9:30 AM - 12:00 PMCharlotte Uptown

9:30-10:00 am: MLK Parade Kickoff Interfaith Prayer Service
Meet on the steps in front of First United Methodist Church (501 North Tryon Street)
Join Rabbi Klass, Rev. Val Rosenquist, and others for a short service before the parade begins. We will come together for song and prayer – Torah included! Parking is available in the church parking garage on 9th St., between Church and Tryon, though it may only be accessible from the Church St. entrance due to parade rerouting. Bring your parking ticket to the service to be validated.

10:00 am -12:00 pm, MLK Parade: Uptown Charlotte
Join Temple Beth El, along with congregants from Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and Grier Heights Presbyterian to build bridges and march together in the MLK Parade. There are many ways to participate: you may walk alongside your fellow congregants, ride on the float – a favorite for the under-18 crowd – or sit in the warm bus! Questions? Email Rabbi Klass

PLEASE NOTE: We will be providing a bus to and from the parade that will leave in time to be present for the service. It will leave from the Blumenthal Portico outside of the Levine JCC at 8:30 am, and will return to Shalom Park after the parade. There are a limited number of seats on the bus and spots are first-come, first-served. Contact Annie Lord with questions.
