Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. March and Wreath-laying Memorial Event

Join the City of Charlotte and a diverse group of clergy and congregations in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a march and wreath-laying in uptown Charlotte. The group, led by Rev. Dr. Benjamin Boswell, Senior Minister of Myers Park Baptist Church, will gather at the Hal Marshall Bldg. at 700 N. Tryon St. and march together to the MLK statue at Marshall Park for the wreath-laying ceremony where music will be provided by Jazz Vocalist, Dawn Anthony and we'll hear from Bishop Tonyia Rawls, the Founder and Executive Director of the Freedom Center for Social Justice.

Parking is suggested at the garage at 901 E. 4th St. Charlotte, NC 28204. If you are physically unable to march, you are invited to meet early at the wreath-laying site at Marshall Park.

Rabbi Knight will be delivering a prayer at the wreath-laying ceremony.

At 1:30pm before the march, Temple Beth El, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and other houses of faith will join together at the meeting site for an interfaith moment of prayer.
