Immigration and Refugee Justice Interest Meeting

Sunday, September 15, 2019 15 Elul 5779

1:00 PM - 2:30 PMTemple Beth El

“The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love them as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt” (Lev.19:34).

In the last few months, we at Temple Beth El have been increasingly disturbed by the dehumanization of immigrants, both documented and undocumented, as well as those who have come to our borders seeking refuge. Many of us showed up on Tisha B'Av to stand up for immigrant and refugee justice, and now have reached out to Tzedek Council and to clergy, asking: "What are we doing about this? What CAN we do?" Join us on September 15th at 1pm to discuss possible answers to those very questions. Together, we will begin a discussion about how we at Temple Beth El might respond intentionally to the current refugee and immigration crisis.
